Accounting Manager
The Accounting Manager will work under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer to facilitate all operations and functions of the accounting department.

This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment and requires dexterity of hands and fingers to operate computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. It is a mostly sedentary role.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Position requires the ability to sit for long periods of uninterrupted time and work at a computer.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with overtime required as needed.
Travel:
Up to 20% travel time may be required with this position.

The Accounting Manager will work under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer to facilitate all operations and functions of the accounting department.
Essential Functions:
- Master and maintain a thorough understanding of the General Ledger structures of a group of interrelated fuel logistics companies.
- Perform full-cycle accounting and drive the month-end closing process.
- Establish and maintain proper month-end cut-off procedures.
- Facilitate the collection of month-end data from all sources.
- Assist in the untangling and clean- up of previous inter-company journal entries to provide a clean set of books.
- Preparation of monthly individual and consolidated financial statements including Income Statements, Balance Sheets and Cash Flow Statements.
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts.
- Assist the Chief Financial Officer in planning the integration of acquisitions in respect to new software, additional accounting staff, systems, and policies and procedures.
- Assist in auditing the work of a staff of 5 for accuracy, and providing assistance when needed.
- Support budget and forecasting activities.
- Establish and maintain a daily and weekly gross margin reporting/projection system.
- Develop strong collaborative relationships with Accounting Team and other employees, to promote an efficient workflow.

Competencies:
- Financial Management.
- Working Knowledge of Full-Cycle Accounting.
- Inventory management.
- Thorough knowledge of US GAAP.
- Strong PC skills, Excel Expert, 10 key by touch.
- Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Excellent organizational, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Willingness to work in cross-functional teams on improvement projects.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Accounting
- 5 Years Accounting Experience
Preferred Education and Experience:
- C.P.A. or C.P.A. eligible
- 7 years accounting experience.
- At least 5 years of full-cycle accounting experience.
- Experience working with fuel logistics and/or trucking industry.
- Familiarity with D.O.T. requirements.
- Understanding of fuel hedging.
